SONY has bought a minority stake in three “Game of Hearts” and “The Jungle book” game developers.
The company has bought out a majority stake in the game developer team behind “Game Of Hearts” developer Game Arts and “Game Arts 2” developer.
The three games will now be known as Game Arts Entertainment and Game Arts 2.
“We’re very excited to bring Game Arts’ new and exciting game to our customers with this strategic investment,” said Jann Wenner, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
“This is a great way to continue our momentum to make the PlayStation 4 a truly global gaming platform.”
Game Arts Entertainment has already made great strides in bringing our game to the next level with the “Game Art 2” and now to “Game Hearts,” which will bring more depth and variety to the genre.””
Game Hearts” is a multiplayer action game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
The game was released in June 2018.
The Game Arts team has been working on the game for several years, and the company is very excited for the future of the franchise, Wenner said.”
This is the best investment we’ve made to date in terms of our game and its team.
The Game Arts family is thrilled to be a part of Sony, and we look forward to working together as the game industry continues to advance,” he said.
The news comes as Sony looks to diversify its product lineup.
Last year, the company announced plans to make its console more affordable and offer more variety in its lineup.
In addition, the studio announced a new VR headset, the PSVR.
The company also unveiled a new smartwatch, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
