When HP Scan software scans and analyzes software that runs on its hardware, it can identify problems that could cause a system to fail or to degrade.
In a blog post published this week, the company said the software can identify software vulnerabilities, which can be used to improve the software.HP said the tools can be installed on the HP Scanning Center, a server system or an external hardware device that’s connected to the network.
The software can be downloaded and installed in the HP scan software’s local or shared network.HP is making the software free for a limited time, and it can be purchased through the company’s website.
HP said the free software includes security and bug detection software and support for the HP Desktop Network, HP Webcam, HP Desktop Capture, HP Scan, HP Powerpoint, HP Xpress, HP PhotoStudio and HP Scan Viewer.
HP Scan will be available on the Internet starting on Feb. 24, 2017.
