Google News (GOOG) software developer Brad DeLong has a nice new software suite that allows users to edit and publish documents in the browser.
But while the feature looks good in theory, it’s not that great in practice.
For example, the new software does not allow you to add images to documents without the use of a plugin.
Additionally, the “document formatting” feature can only be used when editing the document itself, which is a bit odd given the fact that Google has an entire suite of document editing tools for all sorts of other purposes.
That’s a big issue when it comes to editing articles.
In addition, editing text that’s in the PDF format can be a bit tedious, as well as some of the editing capabilities.
Overall, the editing tool is nice, but it’s lacking for editing PDFs and other documents.
However, the software has other benefits, like Google’s integration with Android.
That means the software can be used on devices that support Android apps, and that’s a plus.
