The makers of the popular mobile game Gearbox software are set to become an Apple supplier, with the software company announcing Tuesday that it will start producing its software for the company’s products and services.
The announcement comes as the technology company gears up to launch its latest game, Borderlands 2, on Friday.
The Gearbox games are a series of interactive adventures in which players must shoot and shoot at a variety of guns and weapons.
The company’s latest game will focus on the multiplayer aspects of the franchise.
In a statement, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford said that he and the team are excited to be a part of the launch of Borderlands 2.
“This game has been the ultimate inspiration for many of our team members, and I am extremely proud of the work that we’ve done to make it so,” Pitchford wrote.
“We’re going to make great products that are built on the foundations that Gearbox has laid.”
In addition to Borderlands 2 and Gearbox’s other popular mobile games, GearBox also produces a series called Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
