Software developer Dominion Software is looking to take on Apple in the new smartphone category with its new Dominion Android device.
The company’s Android phone, the Dominion Tablet, is the first of its kind to come with a tablet-style camera and an 8MP camera on the back.
Dominion said it was targeting the high-end market with the tablet, but the device also includes a 2MP front-facing camera for video chatting and a 3.5mm jack for audio recording.
The Dominion Mobile Phone has an Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 512GB storage and a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display.
It costs R3,499 ($599).
Dominion Mobile Phones can be pre-ordered from Dominion’s website, or from Amazon for R2,399 ($399).
